후베이성 우한에 위치한 화중과기대학교(HUST)는 중국 국가교육부 직속으로 설립된 전국 중점 대학이다.
2000년 5월26일 화중이공대학,동제의과대학, 우한도시건설학원을 병합하여 건설 되었으며, 이후 부터 중국 내 대학 순위에서 매년 10위 안에 랭킹 할 정도록 성장 하였다. 학과는 철학,경제학,법학,교육학,문학,이학,공학,의학,관리학,예술학 등 10대 분야로 구분되었다. 학교는 다양한 학과 종류 및 합리적인 구조로 종합적이고 연구적인 학과 체계를 마련 되었다.
현재 화중과기대학은 3,600여명의 전임교사,그 중 1,300 여명의 교수, 1,400여명의 부교수가 재임. 학교는 활발한 국제교류와 협력을 추진하고 있으며,현재 35개국 100여개의 대학과 교류협력 관계를 맺고 있다. 2002년 전문유학생관리 기구 - 화중과기대학 국제교육원국제학생사무실을 설립하였고, 현재 까지 유학생에 대한 모집,양성,관리 및 서비스를 끊임없이 보완하고 규제하고 있다. 2013년 교육부의 최초 유학생 시범기지로 입선되었다.
